Miss Mary Walker, former pupil of Wooler School and Berwick Grammar School,
completes (#183) the 1954 Monte Carlo Rally course without loss of marks!
Mary had a TR2 which Frank Buglass bought and ran at Leith Fort on 13th April 1957.
Also in a Sunbeam Talbot 90 was Stirling Moss and Desmond Scannell.
I am interested to know if Miss Mary was from the same family below in 1959.
It is interesting to see here also John and William Stoddart of Berwick (#238).

Alex McGlashan made a trip to Ireland with his new Staride to take a fourth at Kirkistown on 20th March 1954. Presumably he eventually disposed of the 1953 car rolled and damaged at Oulton Park on 10th October 1953.
Ninian competed in his Staride until 11th September at Bo'ness where he won (see extract below).
Ninian Sanderson's Staride was later to be raced by Peter Simpson of Newcastle from 1958 (LINK).

This is one of the actual cars which Ron Flockhart drove, with Charterhall being an event in which he retired on the first lap due to a tiny stone lodged in a carburettor. The car is seen here at the Sir Jackie Stewart Classic in aid of Race Against Dementia.
