I'm sure there will have been reports and recollections of visits to the Jim Clark Room in many magazines all over the world however this magazine from the USA is worth highlighting not least because we will never again see the Room "just right" as it was. Jana Thompson from Idaho was also treated to being "chauffeured", or in her words thrown, around our Duns countryside as a passenger in a Lotus Cortina. Its a great story of a memorable visit and lasting impression fully complemented with photographs by Eric Bryce including one of Sheila Campbell with Sir Jackie Stewart at the re-opening in 1993. It would please me no end if it were allowed to show the four page feature on this site or if I could include a LINK to the story.

The Motor World was a weekly motoring magazine aimed at motoring enthusiasts in Scotland. Very hard to find so any copies would be appreciated but you can read interesting information online at Old Classic Car. Some time after National Service in the Royal Air Force Graham Gauld joined this weekly magazine as Sports Editor, later to become Editor in 1961.
Top Gear was the magazine of the Scottish Sporting Car Club (SSCC). Again, very hard to find but you can read interesting information online at Old Classic Car. At the inaugural Winfield circuit meeting of 7th October 1950 the SSCC had 22 entries and it was SSCC member Alec McGlashan in a Cooper-J.A.P. who won the first race of the Charterhall closed race inaugural meeting on 6th April 1952.
I'm not sure if there was ever a subsequent publication to this Scottish Motor Racing 1954 book edited by Barclay Inglis however the Editiorial Preface went as follows:-
"It is our aim to present in this annual publication a comprehensive record of speed events in Scotland, and of the participation of Scotsmen in such events furth of Scotland. Organizers and competitors are invited to assist towards this objective by submitting detailed results, lap times, etc, for inclusion in future editions which will be enlarged appropriately."
