Mrs. Scott-Moncrieff first appeared in the Winfield entry list for 21st July 1951 with a supercharged 1492cc Bugatti and again on 13th October. I have not found any reference to her appearing in the reports however she was praised for her performance at Bo'ness in 1950 coming fourth in the 1101-1500cc Racing Car class. It is possible that she did not appear at either meeting as the car was badly damaged on July 7th 1951 at Rest and be Thankful when at Stone Bridge the Bugatti's blower valve stuck and the car rushed on to overturn and roll down the embankment. Fortunately Averil was unhurt apart from a very stiff neck and bruises, but the car was badly damaged MlinkS.
Averil raced a Lotus VI from 1954 which she brought to Charterhall on 6th July 1958 with an M.G. engine fitted. Below is the Sports Car And Lotus Owner Lotuseers No. 20 written by Averil's husband David.

These two photos and the Lotuseers No. 20 kindly sent by Mike Causer. Mike was a subsequent owner of NXA 7 after Averil who loaned him the photographs - somewhere the car survives to this day I am told.

An amusing but interesting article appeared within MotorSport in August 1954 which makes very good reading - MlinkS to "Some Of The Cars I Have Owned" by David Scott-Moncrieff. The Scott-Moncrieff family seat is the 17th Century Tullibole Castle near Fossoway in Crook of Devon, Perthshire.
An amusing 2002 story "Memories of TVR" by Paul Richardson mentions that David (Bunty) loved the TVR and may have been a director at one time. He and Averil owned the brown TVR Climax known as coffee bean which is mentioned here LINK to "Memories of TVR". The car was crashed in practice at the Rest and be Thankful Hill Climb of 2nd July 1960.
Averil Scott-Moncrieff passed away in 2006 and Historic Racing subsequently gave a nice tribute to her LINK.
