The South of Scotland Car Club SOSCC has a very interesting and detailed history going back to 1951 with detailed descriptions of events from that inaugural year including the ongoing project alphabetical list of members achievements, some of whom came to Winfield and Charterhall e.g. Philip Denham-Cookes. LINK

Before commencing the races there was a minute silence in memory of the late Curly Dryden who died of injuries sustained at Castle Combe in October. A tribute to Curly "Pioneer Formula 3 Driver" appeared in Ref 6.
